Happy Friday! I’m excited to be sharing these looks that Cody and I wore to the Tommy Hilfiger show at LFW last week! The Tommy Hilfiger show is ALWAYS my favorite show of the season so I was really really excited when they flew us out for the event. It was actually my first time to London Fashion Week and Tommy Hilifger’s first time presenting in London, so I was really honored to be able to attend.
The theme for the show was a rocker 80’s vibe so I wanted to play up the Rolling Stone’s tee with a feminine but old school rocker vibe. We are seeing plaid everywhere this season (Tommy released a bunch of great plaid pieces this season – obsessed with this blazer and this coat) so I went with this pretty plaid coat with the bold fur trim paired with a graphic tee.
The show as always didn’t disappoint! The collection was so much different than any of the other’s he’s done before. A darker color palette than his typical red, white and blue. Lot’s of blacks and urban style pieces. There was this black leather jacket with bold red fur trim that was my favorite from the show! SO OBSESSED! We are working on finishing a video we shot for the show so more to come there! At the end of the show the chainsmokers (one of my favorites!) performed and it since the show was a smaller intimate event we were able to get right to the front! I was fan girling
Hello Style Lovers! Its getting cool around here again. That means one thing, Fall is here. It’s time to start packing up those sandals and flip flops (even though I’m not quite ready yet). Its definitely time to start pulling out those boots, booties and sneakers. I’m all for the boots, but not so much for the sneakers. Like I’ve said before, I’m not really a “sneakers kind of girl”. For the few times I actually wear one, it has to be without socks (**covers face**).
Of recent, I’ve started to really fall in love with the colorful and chunky sneakers I have been seeing in stores. And finally, I’m like why not incorporate it into my work style and show you how to wear sneakers to work.
I know a lot of people do it already, but like I always say, there’s a stylish and not so stylish way to do it. A lot of it depends on your place of work. If your job is mostly casual, then lucky you, no need to overthink it. However, if your place of work is the opposite, then I guess you mostly crave those “Casual Fridays”. Needless to say, todays outfit can actually let you get away with wearing sneakers to work from Monday to Friday.
Here’s the trick, sneakers can make your whole outfit look dressed down/casual. In order to look a little business like, wear more formal pieces on top and then add your sneakers to the bottom. In other words, wear pieces like blazers or suits with your sneakers. I actually tried this outfit with my red sneakers but it complicated my outfit. It brought too much attention to my feet, which I didn’t want to do. I suggest you wear a white, black or neutral color sneakers to take away some of that attention. That way your boss doesn’t feel the need to say something.
Hope you enjoyed reading this post “How to wear Sneakers To Work”. Please share some of your tips, I would love to hear it.
I enjoy putting an outfit together as much as the next girl, but sometimes the idea of having to change out of my comfy sweatshirt and sweatpants and into “real” clothes is too much to bear. That’s why I’m grateful for brands like Rebecca Minkoff. She’s found a way to put a spin on a regular sweatshirt that makes wearing it out on the town so fun and incredibly comfortable.
And it’s leopard! Are you surprised that I was instantly drawn to this?! Not only is it incredibly soft, but the cut is chic, making it a bit more elevated than that one sweatshirt you’ve had since college that you refuse to get rid of. I love the grey and white leopard print as a way to mix up the traditional colors, and the sleeve detailing on this crew neck sweatshirt makes it stand out even more. If you’re wondering how to make a sweatshirt look cute, this is your answer! Paired with some of my favorite jeans, some heels, and the gorgeous quilted satchel from Rebecca Minkoff as well, this cozy top instantly becomes a look.
Fashion blogs have been around since the early 2000s, but today, blogging is a whole new ball game. While fashion blogs are at an all-time high, we can’t argue against the fact that social media platforms like Instagram remain the single largest forum to redirect traffic towards fashion blogs. But we are not complaining, because that’s made our lives twice as easy. It’s a hashtag game out there, and that’s how we are neck deep into people’s profiles – engrossed, enamored, and even losing a few days while browsing one hashtag after another. Sometimes it can be overwhelming too, to see every second influencer with thousands of followers (and sometimes millions) and the stuff they have to offer. But some fashion bloggers manage to stand out despite all of it. And we are going to talk about them today. If fashion and being updated is your thing, you need to follow them! Check the list, below!
Gabi Gregg set off on this journey to tackle the infuriating gap for plus size women. She started off a blog about a decade ago to show and pave a path in a way that promotes body positivity while being impeccably stylish, vibrant, and colorful. Her outfits are full of life just like her, and so is her clothing line Premme, which caters to plus sizes. She brought, what she calls ‘the fatkini’, by collaborating with ‘Playful Promises’ and ‘Swimsuits’, and showed us how it’s done. We need more women like her, and thanks to social media, we get to follow her around.
The Parisian fashion blogger and DIY queen Lisa Gachet started blogging a few years ago, and recently launched a brand that represents something she truly believes in – Do It Yourself Fashion. It’s a fascinating concept of making limited edition clothing that is a reflection of your personality, but affordable. Her brand is unique, and her feed is colorful. Follow her for all of it, and more.
The 5 foot something petite blogger inspires you in more ways than one. A fashion blogger with a passion for people, art, culture, and music brings all of it together. Wendy wears a lot of hats; she is a blogger, content creator, and a juvenile justice advocate who is just as passionately working towards helping foster children, because she understands the struggle, for she has been one. From moving foster homes to graduating from UCLA, Berkeley in Psychology, to being an influencer, she is indeed an inspiration. She believes that you can rope it all together and make fashion statements that replicate it all. Check her blog for some much-needed inspiration.
At 43, Kat Farmer is a fashion blogger, wardrobe consultant, a personal stylist, and full of life. In her own words, she’s trying to tackle the 40s without being frumpy, and her statements are just that. There’s an exciting balance of feminine, floral, and fashionable pieces put together, redefining style.
Lynn Slater started the ‘Accidental Icon’ because of the dearth of fashion blogs catering to the needs of women over 50s, 60s and beyond. You won’t find too many people like her, but you know the world needs more of that. With snow-white coiffed hair, this sixty-something grandmother is living it all up and raising bars, more like breaking barriers for all the right reasons. With floral kimonos, flaming hot oversized sunglasses, and a contagious fashion sense, Lyn Slater believes and shows us time and again that ‘age is just a variable.’ Thanks for proving the world wrong, Lyn, your 400,000 and growing fan club couldn’t be more grateful.

1. Turtleneck sweater
Turtleneck-like garments date all the way back to the 15th century. They’re basically a 2-in-1 sweater & scarf to protect your neck from the wind, and the best part (obviously) is that they’re ever so trendy. Pair it with denim for a Steve Jobs look or put on a red leather mini skirt and black tights to channel 60’s fashion.
These have to be the most worn item of clothing in the 21st century. However you like them – straight, skinny, boyfriend, ripped, flared or high-rise – a good pair of jeans is meant to make you look good and feel comfortable.
3. Plaid Shirt
A well-designed plaid shirt can easily be dressed up or down with the right coordinating pieces. Rock it with leggings or denim for a chick look. If you prefer a more subtle plaid look layering is key. Mixing prints and textures creates contrast in your ensemble and distracts from your eye focusing on one print.
A V-neck is one of the most popular style of sweaters for men because not only it is stylish, comfortable and cozy but also extremely versatile. It can be worn on a casual day, at work, at a high end event and even for a date night. A V-neck sweater can be complimented nicely by using a patterned collared shirt underneath.
London feels like true fall! Cody lived here for a couple years before we were married so it’s always special coming back with him. We are staying in the financial district and everyone’s style here is so classic. They look beautifully put together and beyond effortless. I love coming to Europe and being inspired by the fashion and culture! I always go home with new style ideas – it’s like every trip influences my style and helps it evolve more, and this trip is all about those timeless pieces.
If there’s one classic color combo that says sophistication it’s camel and black. I love a head to toe black outfit with a camel jacket over so I was obsessed with this one when I found it. Love the length! I also found these black boots at Saks and knew they would work perfectly for London. I didn’t have anything that hit right under the knee like this pair and with the heel and velvet they are a statement piece, so it’s perfect to add to a neutral color combo. I’m also obsessed with combat boots!! I just ordered these timeless black Stuart Weitzman boots and these gorgeous statement Guccis.
These boots! Love the velvet with the wide leg – so good!
If there’s one thing the turns any piece into a statement, it’s embellishment. I love how bold embellishments are being incorporated into so many different pieces this season from jackets and statement outerwear, to shoes and accessories. You guys recognize these boots from last year – I’m obsessed with the pearl detail! If you regretted not getting them last year, definitely pull the trigger! They are such an amazing statement piece and one you will wear with everything! Also obsessed with this patent pair. How pretty is that bee detail?? If you worry embellishments are too much of a statement for you, start simple and tone it down with a monochromatic look – it’s impossible to get wrong.
I’ve also been wanting a colorful bag this season (I’ve been on too much of a neutrals kick!) and I loved this one. Red is always a timeless color that never goes out of style. Also love the metallic chain detail – it’s a simple embellishment but adds an edgy vibe.
It’s not that I was hesitant to get my first pair of combat boots, but I was really picky about getting the right pair. I wanted something that wasn’t too bulky but that was still really versatile so I could get a lot of wear out of them. Then I saw these and loved them soooo much I had to have them (felt the same way about this pair too ). The striped ankle strap is such a good detail and I love the white laces that make them pop with any outfit.
They definitely have a casual, sporty feel to them but I’ve already worn them with so much! An edgy combat boot is the perfect way to amp up a casual jeans and sweater look (just got this style in both black and this wash and I love the cropped hi-low hem – so unique!) You can also pair your combat boots with a mini skirt for more of a feminine balance. I ordered this velvet one and it’s a great option to bring into your fall rotation (this one runs a little big so size down if you are between sizes).
