Happy Friday! I’m excited to be sharing these looks that Cody and I wore to the Tommy Hilfiger show at LFW last week!  The Tommy Hilfiger show is ALWAYS my favorite show of the season so I was really really excited when they flew us out for the event. It was actually my first time to London Fashion Week and Tommy Hilifger’s first time presenting in London, so I was really honored to be able to attend.

The theme for the show was a rocker 80’s vibe so I wanted to play up the Rolling Stone’s tee with a feminine but old school rocker vibe. We are seeing plaid everywhere this season (Tommy released a bunch of great plaid pieces this season – obsessed with this blazer and this coat) so I went with this pretty plaid coat with the bold fur trim paired with a graphic tee.

The show as always didn’t disappoint! The collection was so much different than any of the other’s he’s done before. A darker color palette than his typical red, white and blue. Lot’s of blacks and urban style pieces. There was this black leather jacket with bold red fur trim that was my favorite from the show! SO OBSESSED! We are working on finishing a video we shot for the show so more to come there! At the end of the show the chainsmokers (one of my favorites!) performed and it since the show was a smaller intimate event we were able to get right to the front! I was fan girling

Hello Style Lovers! Its getting cool around here again. That means one thing, Fall is here. It’s time to start packing up those sandals and flip flops (even though I’m not quite ready yet). Its definitely time to start pulling out those boots, booties and sneakers. I’m all for the boots, but not so much for the sneakers. Like I’ve said before, I’m not really a “sneakers kind of girl”. For the few times I actually wear one, it has to be without socks (**covers face**).

Of recent, I’ve started to really fall in love with the colorful and chunky sneakers I have been seeing in stores. And finally, I’m like why not incorporate it into my work style and show you how to wear sneakers to work.

I know a lot of people do it already, but like I always say, there’s a stylish and not so stylish way to do it. A lot of it depends on your place of work. If your job is mostly casual, then lucky you, no need to overthink it. However, if your place of work is the opposite, then I guess you mostly crave those “Casual Fridays”. Needless to say, todays outfit can actually let you get away with wearing sneakers to work from Monday to Friday.

Here’s the trick, sneakers can make your whole outfit look dressed down/casual. In order to look a little business like, wear more formal pieces on top and then add your sneakers to the bottom. In other words, wear pieces like blazers or suits with your sneakers. I actually tried this outfit with my red sneakers but it complicated my outfit. It brought too much attention to my feet, which I didn’t want to do. I suggest you wear a white, black or neutral color sneakers to take away some of that attention. That way your boss doesn’t feel the need to say something.

Hope you enjoyed reading this post “How to wear Sneakers To Work”. Please share some of your tips, I would love to hear it.

London feels like true fall! Cody lived here for a couple years before we were married so it’s always special coming back with him. We are staying in the financial district and everyone’s style here is so classic. They look beautifully put together and beyond effortless. I love coming to Europe and being inspired by the fashion and culture! I always go home with new style ideas – it’s like every trip influences my style and helps it evolve more, and this trip is all about those timeless pieces.

If there’s one classic color combo that says sophistication it’s camel and black. I love a head to toe black outfit with a camel jacket over so I was obsessed with this one when I found it. Love the length! I also found these black boots at Saks and knew they would work perfectly for London. I didn’t have anything that hit right under the knee like this pair and with the heel and velvet they are a statement piece, so it’s perfect to add to a neutral color combo. I’m also obsessed with combat boots!! I just ordered these timeless black Stuart Weitzman boots and these gorgeous statement Guccis.

These boots! Love the velvet with the wide leg – so good!

If there’s one thing the turns any piece into a statement, it’s embellishment. I love how bold embellishments are being incorporated into so many different pieces this season from jackets and statement outerwear, to shoes and accessories. You guys recognize these boots from last year – I’m obsessed with the pearl detail! If you regretted not getting them last year, definitely pull the trigger! They are such an amazing statement piece and one you will wear with everything! Also obsessed with this patent pair. How pretty is that bee detail?? If you worry embellishments are too much of a statement for you, start simple and tone it down with a monochromatic look – it’s impossible to get wrong.

I’ve also been wanting a colorful bag this season (I’ve been on too much of a neutrals kick!) and I loved this one. Red is always a timeless color that never goes out of style. Also love the metallic chain detail – it’s a simple embellishment but adds an edgy vibe.

It’s not that I was hesitant to get my first pair of combat boots, but I was really picky about getting the right pair. I wanted something that wasn’t too bulky but that was still really versatile so I could get a lot of wear out of them. Then I saw these and loved them soooo much I had to have them (felt the same way about this pair too ). The striped ankle strap is such a good detail and I love the white laces that make them pop with any outfit.

They definitely have a casual, sporty feel to them but I’ve already worn them with so much! An edgy combat boot is the perfect way to amp up a casual jeans and sweater look (just got this style in both black and this wash and I love the cropped hi-low hem – so unique!) You can also pair your combat boots with a mini skirt for more of a feminine balance. I ordered this velvet one and it’s a great option to bring into your fall rotation (this one runs a little big so size down if you are between sizes).

Nordstrom’s shoe game is FIRE this season and we are here for it. Two words: Wild Patterns. And I get it, when you buy a statement piece you want to make sure you actually wear it. You also want to make sure your outfit just has one of them, otherwise it’s like having two alpha males in the same room completing for attention. I live with 4 of them, and let me tell you, it’s not always pretty. What I’m trying to say is, let the boots be the focus and keep the rest of your outfit neutral. This little trick actually makes getting dressed much easier, because for the rest of your look you can just stick to basics.

But first a little bit about these boots. Oh Sam, how I love you and your shoes. Top notch quality, on trend, and most importantly – comfortable! These boots are super walkable with a 3 inch block heel. The hidden zipper on the inside makes it easy to slip on and off. See how I styled these boots three different ways below proving that, basically, they are a wardrobe staple

I know this post is about my camel coat picks for 2019, but I wanted to take a moment to address the ‘So Kate’ Louboutin boots I am wearing in the above photos because I get a ton of questions about them. They’re a couple of years old and still remain one of my favorite pairs. Again, cost per wear, they’ve paid for themselves over and over again. They don’t make this exact pair, but this year they came out with this super chic pair, which has an even lower heel so I imagine they’ll be incredibly comfortable.  This Louboutin pair is another similar version and the heel is also a drop lower than the ones I’m wearing.

Whenever I get asked the question “what are your closet essentials?” a camel coat is always on my personal must-have list. Whether you’re fair, dark, in between, there’s a shade and a shape that can suit any skin and body type. The photos I’ve shared are coats that are (unfortunately) a few years old, but it just goes to show how they stand the test of time. While the ones I am wearing are no longer available, I’ve compiled my camel coat picks for 2019 including similar options and my favorites in various price points.

Theory Camel Coat, Fall Coat Style, Helena of Brooklyn Blonde

This Theory coat is years old, but it still gets as much love as it did in the first year that I got it. It’s shorter, slightly oversized, a bit boyish and looks great with both sneakers and a slightly dressier outfit. The most similar versions that I’ve found are here.

Classic Camel Coat, Mackage Camel Coat, Fall Coat Style, Helena of Brooklyn Blonde

One of my favorite camel coats is from Mackage. I love the length, the quality is superb and I’m a sucker for a bigger collar. This one is from a few years ago, but they came out with a new, similar version. It’s certainly an investment piece, but I’m going on my third season wearing mine and I know it will get many more years to come. I take a small in the brand. Another version that I’ve seen in person and I absolutely love is this one. The quality is superb and it looks very luxe on.

While it’s easy to reach for your classic black handbag, subtle cat’s eye sunglasses and plain pumps every time you leave the house, it’s not always the best choice to make. Accessories have the power to transform outfits and take your style to extraordinary new levels. So, choosing the same pieces every day and forgoing statement shoes, bags, jewellery, sunglasses, and more could be doing your fashion-savvy self a disservice. To really complement your look, you need pieces that will stand on their own and won’t just fade into the background. Specifically, you need these statement accessory trends that promise to elevate your style this season.

Bejewelled Bags

While there will always be a place in our wardrobes for a classic and timeless handbag, sometimes simple just won’t cut it. For those occasions, when you need something a little more unique than your standard black crossbody, you should turn to bejewelled bags. Perfect for creating a statement, these chic and embellished designs are loud and proud. Choose between styles that are bejewelled all over or those with more subtle bling to suit your personal tastes. You can also use these bedazzled handbags to dress up a minimalistic outfit or take an already glamorous look to the next level.

Berets

This season’s favourite hat is the beret. The statement style, which is a departure from the fedoras and floppy brimmed hats of previous seasons, is perfect for adding a chic French touch to any outfit. The style is also more feminine and elegant than a beanie, making it a great alternative for occasions when you want a more elevated appearance. To rock this accessory like a street style star, start by choosing a classic beret in a neutral colour. Black is a particularly good choice and can match with anything and everything. Then, pair your beret with an outfit that is both contemporary and exciting for a fabulous French look.
